The decor of most houses and apartments is boring. People either cover their walls with classic paintings, random homely garbage, or nothing at all. For some reason, anything having to do with rock n' roll or a more interesting, original style is forbidden. Anything that doesn't remind people of their grandmother or so-called grown-up hobbies is laughed at.
But wouldn't every house look better with at least one item that's a little different? Something fun and artistic? I'm not much for shameless promotion, but I'll make an exception today. A Minnesota company called Aesthetic Apparatus creates some of the best rock concert posters I've ever seen, and they deserve a little credit.
Bloc Party, The Dandy Warhols, The Dropkick Murphys, Henry Rollins, Interpol, Jonathan Richman, Liz Phair, Lucinda Williams, Modest Mouse, Ryan Adams, Sleater-Kinney, Spoon, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, The Hives, The Libertines, The New Pornographers, The Raveonettes, The Roots, The Shins, The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Yo La Tengo. Aesthetic Apparatus has made posters for all these bands and more.
All these "The" bands. And more. More "The".
Their prints are $20 each, and look great framed. Here's just a few of my favorites:
